Role Purpose: Responsible for performing operational tasks in support of the Zabiha Halal brand during special events. Attending all of the largest Canadian Muslim events taking place in Ontario, including Halal FoodFest, Muslimfest, and Reviving the Islamic Spirit (RIS). Responsibilities will vary dependent upon the assignment from the Show Team Leader


1. Promotes brand and products at large and small Canadian Muslim targeted events on behalf of Zabiha Halal and occasionally Maple Lodge Farms.
2. The following outlines the responsibility of each team member at an event, dependent on the job assigned by the Team Leader.

.Greets all customers.
.Promotes product attributes while serving customers.
.Maintains kitchen and deli cart areas at all times.
.Replenishes product and promotional materials on the counter.
.Communicates with cooks with respect to sample quantities required.

.Greets all customers.
.Promotes product attributes while preparing food when appropriate.
.Maintains cleanliness of cooking/preparation area, following all guidelines and practices of food safety (i.e. using .proper disinfectants, thermometers, cleaning utensils, etc.).
.Prepares product, adhering to all food safety standards on the barbeque or deli cart
.Ensures sample quantities are filled based on customer demand.
.Adheres to all safety regulations (i.e. propane handling, knife and slicer safety, etc.).
.Ensures barbecues are in perfect condition after each event (i.e. appear new).

.Greets all customers.
.Promotes product and interacts with children and adults.
.Chaperones mascot, handing out POS materials, and taking photos.
.Maintains cleanliness and organization of condiments, kitchen and serving areas at all times.
.Sets up area/tears down promotional unit.
.Conducts E-Tool surveys with the public at specified events.

.Maintains cleanliness of condiment area
.Replenishes condiments and napkins as needed
.Ensures there is no garbage on stage/ground
.Changes the garbage outside of the trailer

.Greets all customers.
.Promotes product and interacts with children and adults (never pick up a child).
.Maintains an energetic and friendly persona in costume (i.e. appropriate gestures, and never speaks).
.Participates with chaperone (fellow team member) at interactive zones to promote a fun and friendly environment for children.

3. Policies, Processes & Procedures

Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.


* Previous retail/ marketing and promotions and/or customer service experience an asset;
* Must be available to work weekends;
* Must be comfortable speaking with people, and have an outgoing and engaging personality;
* Must be able to stand comfortably for up to 8 hours per day;
* Must present a professional appearance and wear specifically required apparel.


* Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license an asset
* Fluency in Urdu and/or Arabic is an asset.

* Event / Field Work - field event work includes indoor and outdoor events all seasons.
* Local travel required with approximately 4-8 weeks of overnight travel required annually.
